EnergyMarkets&Trading;|Product&DeliveryLead; A rare opportunity to join a sophisticated trading business at an exciting point of growth. We’re looking for someone who combines genuine electricity market knowledge with the drive and commercial judgement to lead a significant enery trading technology build. Sitting close to the trading desk, you’ll work with traders and market specialists to understand where the biggest opportunities are, what capability is needed to capture them, and then bring together the right people to get it delivered. This could suit an experienced Product Owner – but we’re equally interested in traders, trading analytics or energy markets professionals who have naturally gravitated towards building tools, improving systems and leading change.

Responsibilities:

- Take ownership of a major electricity trading technology and capability build, from defining priorities through to delivery
- Turn complex market requirements into a explicit roadmap for technology, data and engineering teams
- Lead cross-functional delivery across trading systems, market data, analytics, risk and operational workflows
- Make pragmatic decisions about priorities, balancing commercial value, delivery complexity and risk
- Bring together stakeholders across the Front Office and broader business to remove blockers and keep delivery moving
- Ensure new capabilities can be implemented safely and effectively within a highly regulated institutional environment





Qualifications:

Electricity markets experience is essential. Beyond that, we’re deliberately open-minded about where you’ve built your career.

- Strong knowledge of the Australian electricity market and the commercial realities of trading within it
- Experience in electricity trading, trading analytics, market operations, energy technology or product ownership
- An understanding of how pricing, risk, trading systems, data and settlements fit together within an electricity markets business
- Evidence that you’ve built or delivered something meaningful – a platform, a product, trading tool, analytics capability, automated workflow or broader technology initiative
- Enough technical fluency to work effectively with engineering and data teams; exposure to APIs, Python, SQL or modern data platforms is advantageous
- Strong leadership and stakeholder skills, with the ability to translate between highly technical and highly commercial people
- A builder’s mindset – driven, decisive, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated by getting things into production

Formal Product Owner experience is highly regarded, but it isn’t the only route into this role. If you’ve worked close to an electricity trading desk and become the person who drives new tools, systems or technology initiatives, we’d particularly like to hear from you.
