Associate Consultant - Connecting Tech Talent
About the job
SKL Technology is currently searching for motivated Senior Data Engineers to join our growing client within their ICT Services Division.
The role involves supporting, maintaining, and optimising enterprise data platforms across cloud and legacy environments. You will work closely with internal technical teams to ensure reliable data delivery, operational stability, and ongoing enhancement of data pipelines, analytics platforms, and reporting systems, while meeting defined SLAs and BAU support requirements.

Citizenship: AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP IS ESSENTIAL.

Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain data assets across cloud data lakes, cloud EDW, legacy EDW, and analytics platforms.
- Provide Level 2/3 operational support for data platforms, including AWS services, Snowflake, Teradata, and ETL tools.
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Develop and maintain SQL-based analytical and data integration code.
- Support scheduling and orchestration processes using Control-M or similar tools.
- Work within DevOps processes, including version control and CI/CD practices.
- Manage file transfers using enterprise file transfer tools.
- Monitor and support daily data delivery, month-end processing, and BAU data operations.
- Produce and maintain system and operational documentation.
- Collaborate with data consumers, testers, and IT support teams to resolve data issues and deliver improvements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of coding standards, documentation, and delivery practices.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in AWS data services, including Glue, S3, Lambda, EC2, and RDS.
- Proven experience designing and supporting data pipelines using ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake (cloud EDW) and/or Teradata (on-prem EDW).
- Robust programming skills, particularly in Python.
- Experience with Control-M or similar scheduling and monitoring tools.
- Demonstrated experience working in BAU operational support environments with SLA accountability.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Exposure to ETL tools such as DBT, Talend, or Informatica.
- Experience working with SAS platforms (Base, EG, or SAS Viya).
