Task & responsibilities

- Technical Advisory: Support a team providing advice on technical interfaces of energy projects, including design, feasibility studies, and performance assessments.
- Strategy: Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with client goals, focusing on risk management, contract negotiation, and financial optimization.

- Regulatory Compliance:



Ensure that all projects comply with relevant Australian regulatory requirements, including National Electricity Rules (NER) and relevant gas codes and markets.
- Commercial Acumen: Interpret and advise on commercial matters related to energy projects, including contracts, regulatory obligations, and dispute resolution.
- Project Management: Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget, coordinating technical, commercial, and contractual aspects.

- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions that drive their business forward.
- Innovation: Identify opportunities for innovation in project delivery, regulatory compliance, and commercial strategies, contributing to the firm’s thought leadership.
- Mentorship: Provide mentorship and professional development support to junior consultants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.

Qualification & experience

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Law, and/or Engineering; a Master’s degree in either field or a dual degree is highly desirable.
- Experience: Extensive experience in a technical and commercial consulting role,



with a strong background in both engineering and commercial or legal aspects of energy projects.

- Technical Skills: Comprehensive understanding of energy infrastructure, project development processes, and associated legal frameworks. Proficiency in using relevant software tools for technical analysis and project management.
- Commercial Expertise: Strong knowledge of contract management and administration, regulatory compliance, and risk management in the context of energy projects.

- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills, with a proven ability to develop cutting-edge solutions to complex problems.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams and large-scale projects.
