About Monash Infectious Diseases Monash Infectious Diseases provides services for patients with infections across all major campuses at Monash Health. Additionally, we operate the antimicrobial stewardship program, and in the near future, outreach services to support Bass Coast Health.
Inpatient activity includes an inpatient unit (based at the Clayton campus), consulting services (Clayton, the Victorian Heart Hospital, Dandenong, Casey, Kingston and Moorabbin) and specialist consulting (infections and immunity as a key support service for transplant and rheumatology; and intensive care liaison for all four major units).
Major specialist clinic services include HIV medicine (with a cohort of more than 400 patients); tuberculosis and other mycobacteria (we care for about 10% of all patients with tuberculosis in Australia); infections and immunity (immunocompromised patients), travel medicine and general ID clinics.
