Team Leader - Positive Behaviour Support and Counselling
Capability Clinical Services provides qualified, client centred, trauma informed and compassionate support for children, young people, and adults. Clinical Services offers face to face and telehealth counselling and psychological interventions, assessments and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer and working within the Capability Clinical Governance Framework, the Team Leader provides clinical leadership, oversight, and operational management to a team of clinicians. The role ensures delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, and client-centred services, while supporting staff development, performance, and service outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Governance
- Provide clinical oversight and ensure adherence to evidence-based practice
- Support complex case formulation and risk management
- Monitor clinical quality, documentation, and compliance standards
- Lead clinical discussions, case reviews, and reflective practice forums
- Supervise and support Senior Clinicians and Clinicians
- Conduct performance development, feedback, and reviews
- Support staff wellbeing, retention, and professional growth
- Mentor emerging leaders within the team
Operational Management
- Manage team workflows, allocation, and service delivery targets
- Monitor KPIs including client contact hours, waitlists, and outcomes
- Support implementation of service improvements and new models of care
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams (assessment, PBS, governance)
- Liaise with external stakeholders (e.g., referrers, partner organisations)

Key Requirements
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling.
- Registration with appropriate professional registration/governing body. AHPRA Registered Psychologist, ACA Counsellor or AASW Social Worker
- Experienced trauma-informed practitioner with advanced clinical skills and demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Highly developed analytical, communication and written skills.
- Valid Working with Vulnerable People Registration.
- Available & registered vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in providing clinical supervision and line management to allied health professionals in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Advanced skills in at least one modality of therapy
- Demonstrated experience in providing therapy services with children and young people from a diverse and varied background.
- Experience in working with care teams to improve the support of clients.
