We are seeking a professional to join in a newly created role the position of AI Adoption Lead. The key purpose of this role will be to drive the successful adoption and responsible use of AI across the organisation.
As the AI Adoption Lead, you will be instrumental in shaping how AI is embedded into day‑to‑day operations, enabling teams to work smarter, improve productivity and unlock new opportunities for innovation. Working closely with executive leaders, business stakeholders, technology teams, legal, risk and governance functions, you will identify high‑value opportunities, establish practical frameworks and lead initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes.
Combining strategy, change leadership, governance and delivery, this role will suit someone who can balance big‑picture thinking with hands‑on execution. You will play a key role in building organisational capability, driving user adoption and creating the foundations for long‑term AI maturity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a forward‑looking AI adoption strategy and roadmap aligned to organisational objectives.
- Identify, assess and prioritise AI initiatives that deliver tangible business value and operational improvements.
- Partner with business leaders to understand challenges, uncover opportunities and embed AI‑enabled ways of working.
- Establish clear success measures and track the impact of AI initiatives across the organisation.
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders to drive awareness, engagement and adoption.
- Lead organisational change activities that support the successful introduction of AI tools, processes and capabilities.
- Act as a trusted advisor on AI opportunities, emerging trends and practical business applications.
- Facilitate collaboration across business and technology teams to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
- Design and maintain fit‑for‑purpose governance frameworks that support the safe, ethical and compliant use of AI.
- Ensure AI initiatives align with organisational policies, privacy obligations, security requirements and regulatory expectations.
- Provide guidance on risk management, responsible AI practices and decision‑making processes.
- Develop governance reporting and recommendations for leadership and decision‑making forums.
- Create and implement AI education, awareness and learning programmes across the organisation.
- Develop practical guidance, resources and support materials to help teams confidently adopt approved AI technologies.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and experimentation.
- Evaluate recent tools, platforms and approaches to determine potential business applications.
- Provide strategic recommendations on future investments and opportunities to enhance organisational capability and performance.

This role will suit someone that has a mix of private and government sector experience, who has worked in mid‑level organisations and who is passionate about helping organisations embrace technology and deliver meaningful change. You have a proven ability to influence stakeholders, navigate complexity and turn emerging technologies into practical business outcomes.
To be considered for this role, you must be an Australian Permanent Resident or an Australian Citizen.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise‑wide transformation, technology, digital or business improvement initiatives
- Proven ability to develop strategic roadmaps and translate them into successful delivery outcomes.
- Solid stakeholder management and organisational change leadership skills.
- Experience influencing senior executives and working across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Knowledge of AI technologies, particularly across Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Azure AI, Power Platform or similar AI technologies
- Experience identifying and delivering business value through technology adoption programmes.
- Strong project or programme, transformation capabilities or experience in transformation lead roles
- Experience establishing governance, risk management or decision‑making frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into practical business language.
