This is data work for people who want to shape digital products, not just report on them.
At Liquid, we're looking for a Senior Data Analyst who can bring data, AI and analytics capability to our team and clients - someone who digs into product analytics and user data to uncover insights, then turns what they find into real improvements.
Liquid is a Strategic Design and Digital Transformation consultancy based in Brisbane, working on national projects across government, health, education and beyond. From improving access to mental health services to rethinking how public services are designed and delivered, our work is grounded in creating meaningful, human-centred outcomes.
At Liquid, we do not just deliver projects. We partner with clients to create lasting change. That means thinking clearly, working collaboratively, and always asking: what is the real problem, and what is possible?
Why this role is different
This role sits at the intersection of public impact, digital product delivery and modern data and AI capability - helping multidisciplinary teams turn user data into insight, and insight into better product and service decisions.
Liquid is actively embracing AI, both internally and in client work. We want someone who brings practical, responsible AI and data capability to the team - spotting opportunities and turning good ideas into practical product features and smarter ways of working.
For the right person, this is a chance to combine strong analytics foundations with product thinking, data storytelling, consulting judgement and a genuine curiosity about AI.
Before you apply
Senior, full-lifecycle experience in data analysis, product analytics and BI: from measurement design through to insight and impact.
A track record of turning findings into action: spotting opportunities for improvement grounded in context and project and industry knowledge, not just reporting on what happened.
Experience collecting and interpreting user and product data from digital channels,
research tools and cloud platforms, with confidence across the broader analytics toolset (see below).
Working knowledge of machine learning or data science techniques, with the judgement to apply them responsibly to real business and product problems.
SQL and Snowflake experience, including data modelling, quality and secure data handling is a nice to have.
This role may be less suited to someone whose experience has been mostly direct reporting through dashboards, without deeper ownership of data, tracking or product questions.
About the role
You'll work within a multidisciplinary team of designers, developers, strategists, project managers and analysts — understanding client problems, interrogating data and turning what you find into insight that shapes better digital products and services. This is not a back-office reporting role: you'll stay close to both the detail and the outcome.
This role is open to remote applicants, but our preference is someone who will be able to work in the Brisbane office regularly.
What you'll be doing
Leading data analysis, product analytics and insight workstreams from discovery through to delivery - finding the "so what" and turning it into action.
Working collaboratively with clients in workshops and meetings, to understand their problems and translate data into narratives that resonate with them.
Mentoring others and lifting Liquid's capability across insights, analytics, AI and data-informed product thinking.
Spotting opportunities for improvement and helping teams prioritise and act on them.
Insight isn't finished until something changes because of it.
Shaping measurement strategies for digital products, including events, product metrics and reporting needs.
Collecting and interpreting user data from sources such as GA4, Qualtrics and CDPs, as well as data provided by our clients, and turning it into clear visualisations, dashboards and narratives.
Identifying practical AI opportunities across our operations and client-facing products, then helping teams move responsibly from idea to tested use case.
Taking a thoughtful approach to data governance and quality, and knowing when rigour matters and when momentum matters.
Tools and platforms you will work with
- Digital product measurement: product metrics, marketing channels, tracking methods, event design and web data capture
- Analytics, research and visualisation: GA4, Google Tag Manager, Qualtrics, PowerBI, Google Data Studio
- Project/Development Management software: Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian apps
- Cloud data platforms and integration: Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure and CDPs such as RudderStack
- AI and data science: model-ready datasets, machine learning techniques, evaluation, monitoring, responsible AI practices and practical automation opportunities
How we work
At Liquid, we believe in radical simplicity, cutting through complexity to create solutions that work for real people. We are curious and practical about AI: interested in what it can genuinely improve, clear-eyed about its limits, and careful about data, privacy, trust and human outcomes.
You will do well here if you:
- Care about meaningful outcomes, not just analysis for analysis's sake
- Enjoy working closely with others in a collaborative, low-ego environment
- Are curious, adaptable and always learning
- Want to help a team build stronger data, analytics and AI capability together
- Take ownership and find a way forward, even when things are not fully defined
