Job Description

Our client is an industry leading agribusiness with sophisticated horticulture operations located in Gin Gin and surrounds. They are currently looking to fill 10 Horticulture Team Leader positions across their farming sites, with work commencing from August 2026 onwards. You will be required to work in a Berry and Citrus production environment.

The work is outside and will be cold in the mornings, with hot and dusty days, depending on the weather. You will be required to perform heavy lifting tasks, as most picking buckets weigh 15+kg. You will be engaged to perform both piece rate and hourly work.

When you are engaged to perform piece rate work, you will be paid at the rate per bin or kilogram. When picking citrus, the minimum piece rate is $30 per bin. When you are picking Blueberries, the minimum piece rate is $4 per kilogram.

This means, you will be paid according to your productivity. You will be entitled to a minimum hourly rate of $35.88, under the Agri Labor Australia Horticulture Agreement 2016 – Level 3, with a minimum of 120 hours over a 4 week period. This will be aligned with the Fair

Work Commission's annual reviews, including any increases to the National Minimum Wage and minimum award rates of pay. You will be offered between 6-9 months of work with potential to upskill. Key duties include: Your key duties include, but are not limited to:



Safe and efficient picking of berries and citrus - this will involve harvesting, planting, irrigation, pruning, crop maintenance, packing and quality control.

Physically fit with a strong commitment to workplace safety, food quality and productivity. Characteristics and Aptitudes: To be considered for the roles, it's important you are committed to safe and productive citrus and blueberry production. You must also be:

- Comfortable working in a farming environment
- Good communication skills and able to follow instructions
- No asthma or dust allergies
- Live locally or be happy to relocate to Gin Gin
- Physically fit and comfortable in carrying out labour intensive duties
- Fit and able to perform repetitive tasks such as prolonged standing and bending down.
- Able to follow directions and work unsupervised whilst showing high levels of initiative
- A team player and happy working with a multicultural team
