Senior Content Strategist – Digital and Social (Full‑time, on site, Sydney, NSW, AU)
Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end digital, social and content strategy development for new and existing clients, from discovery through to final recommendation.
- Support and own strategic responses for briefs, RFPs, proactive pitches and retained client work.
- Shape social‑first and digital‑first content approaches across key platforms and channels.
- Develop channel recommendations, content pillars, messaging frameworks and content plans.
- Continuously upskill in the digital space, moving from SEO practices to AEO.
- Collaborate with strategists, social leads, creatives, producers, commercial teams and client teams, including mentoring and upskilling internal teams in digital, social and content strategy best practice.
- Contribute to audience, competitor, platform and cultural research.
- Keep up to date with emerging social platforms, content formats, creator trends and digital behaviours.
- Support the Strategy Director on strategic presentations, content plans and new business opportunities.
- Present strategic thinking confidently to clients and senior internal stakeholders, leading workshops, sell‑ins and recommendation sessions.
- Act as a senior client‑facing strategic lead across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring high‑quality output with limited oversight.
- Step into the Strategy CoE lead role when required, providing continuity, senior judgement and team support.
- Identify opportunities to grow existing client scopes and contribute to new revenue opportunities across Medium Rare, Visual Domain and Storyation.
- Determine when specialist external support is required and help brief, manage and integrate that expertise efficiently.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in digital strategy, social strategy,
content strategy, social media, integrated marketing or a related discipline, ideally within an agency, media, publishing or content environment.
- Strong understanding of content marketing, social platforms, audience behaviour and multi‑channel content.
- Ability to shape content for different audiences, channels and objectives, and confident developing strategies that connect creative ideas with measurable outcomes.
- Experience working across multiple stakeholders and projects, from new business pitches through to ongoing client programs.
- Strategic thinking, creative judgement, commercial awareness and practical delivery.
- Highly organised, collaborative and curious, with a solid interest in social culture, emerging platforms, audience behaviour and the evolving role of digital and AI content in brand communications.
