Part-time 0.6 FTE, Fixed Term Position For 12 Months Salary HEW 8 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements Based At the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About The Position

The Senior Advisor, Evaluation will lead high-impact evaluation, applied research and systems-learning initiatives across RMIT University's Workforce Innovation and Development Institute (WIDI) and PSI, helping shape how evidence is generated, understood and applied to strengthen programs, inform public policy and improve outcomes across the health, social services and education sectors. The role will design and deliver evaluation approaches, apply qualitative and quantitative analysis, and translate complex evidence into clear, practical insights and recommendations. Working closely with diverse internal and external stakeholders, the Senior Advisor will build evaluation capability and identify partnered and revenue-generating opportunities to expand WIDI and PSI's impact. The role will also help connect the social services sector with RMIT's Education and research capabilities, contributing to stronger community outcomes, strategic priorities and evidence-informed public policy.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

- Demonstrated understanding of the policy landscape for the social service and education sectors and ability to develop evaluations and insights based on data, research, and evidence.
- Previous experience developing partnered proposals and business development opportunities with an emphasis on monitoring, evaluation and/or learning.
- Previous experience in managing research and evaluation projects including demonstrated understanding of the development and application of Program Logic and Theory of Change frameworks.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including experience producing high quality reports for a variety of audiences in a variety of formats
- Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills including demonstrated ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Significant experience providing expert advice and recommendations to ensure that project objectives are met and that project outputs are produced to a high standard.




- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, record keeping and multi-tasking skills, including ethics applications where appropriate and relevant.
- Highly developed skills in the use of information and communication technologies.
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis using relevant software packages (NVIVO, SPSS, STATA, Tableau, Qualtrics and Miro).

Qualifications:

- Graduate or research qualifications in social sciences, psychology, or a related field.

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.

Preferred candidates will also be required to undertake relevant pre-employment background checks, including Working With Children Checks.
