Our Shepparton dealership represents and supports a diverse range of leading heavy vehicle brands including Western Star Trucks, MAN Truck & Bus, Dennis Eagle, Detroit, FOTON Trucks and FAW Trucks.
We are currently seeking an experienced Workshop Foreman to take a key leadership role within our busy Shepparton workshop.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity for an experienced Workshop Foreman, Leading Hand or highly capable Senior Heavy Vehicle Technician looking to take the next step in their career.
Working within one of the largest and most modern heavy vehicle workshop facilities in the Goulburn Valley, you will take a hands-on role in driving workshop efficiency, productivity and quality, while providing technical leadership and mentoring our team of technicians and apprentices.

The Role
As Workshop Foreman,
you will take a hands-on leadership role on the workshop floor, helping ensure work moves through the workshop safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
A key focus of this position will be improving workshop productivity and efficiency through effective job allocation, technical support, communication and supervision.
You will act as a senior technical resource for the workshop while helping develop the skills and capabilities of the technicians and apprentices around you.
This is an opportunity to have a genuine influence on the performance of the workshop — not simply supervise it.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee day-to-day workshop operations
- Allocate work effectively across technicians and apprentices based on workload, skills and priorities
- Drive improvements in workshop efficiency, productivity and job flow
- Monitor job progress and assist in keeping repairs and servicing on schedule
- Provide technical guidance and diagnostic support on complex repairs
- Mentor, coach and develop apprentices and technicians
- Assist technicians with fault finding, diagnostics and repair methodology
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality control and safety
- Work closely with Service Advisors, Parts and management to minimise delays and keep jobs progressing
- Identify and implement practical opportunities to improve workshop processes and utilisation
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with manufacturer, dealership and safety standards
- Help maintain a positive, professional and accountable workshop culture
- Remain hands-on when required to support the team and keep work moving
About You
We are looking for someone who knows heavy vehicles, understands how an effective workshop should operate and enjoys helping a team perform at its best.
Ideally, you will have:
- Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic / Truck Mechanic
- Strong experience with heavy vehicles,
diesel engines and transport equipment
- Previous experience as a Workshop Foreman, Leading Hand or Senior Technician
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability
- Sound understanding of workshop workflow, productivity and job management
- Ability to lead, mentor and develop technicians and apprentices
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
- High standards of workmanship and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with Service Advisors, Parts personnel and management
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality
We would also welcome applications from highly experienced Senior Heavy Vehicle Technicians or Leading Hands ready to take the next step into a Workshop Foreman position.
Desirable Licences & Experience
- HR, HC or MC licence
- VIC Roadworthy Vehicle Tester licence
- Automotive A/C licence
- Auto-Electrical qualification or experience
- Previous OEM dealership experience
- Experience with American, European and/or Asian heavy vehicles
- Previous supervisory, mentoring or team leadership experience
These are desirable but not essential for the right candidate.

Location & Conditions
- Based at our Shepparton, VIC dealership
- Permanent full-time position
- 38-hour standard working week
- Overtime available where required
- Occasional breakdown and off-site support as required
