Our client, a large and well-established Australian organisation, is seeking an experienced SAP Security Engineer to join its ERP Platform team on an initial 12-month contract. Commencement by mid-September 2026.

This is a hands-on, BAU-focused role responsible for security administration and operational support across a complex SAP landscape, with particular focus on SAP ECC and SuccessFactors Employee Central / Employee Central Payroll (EC/ECP). You will help ensure appropriate access, effective security controls, and the confidentiality, integrity and availability of business-critical SAP environments.

This is not a project role. The position is a backfill for a permanent team member moving into a major ERP Transformation program. You may support transformation activity where it impacts the existing SAP landscape, but BAU security support remains the primary accountability.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior ERP Manager, you will work closely with SAP functional and development teams, BASIS, Cyber Security, Identity & Access Management, Infrastructure teams and external support partners.

The broader environment includes

SAP ECC, NetWeaver Portal and Gateway, SAP Fiori, SAP CRM, SAP BW, SAP Java, SAP BTP, SAP HCM and SAP ECP.

What You'll Be Doing

- Provide end-to-end SAP security and authorisation administration across production and non-production environments.
- Design, build, maintain and support SAP roles, authorisations and user access assignments.
- Manage named-user, privileged, service, communication and technical-account access in line with established security and access-management controls.
- Coordinate security role changes through controlled change and release processes.
- Provide security administration and troubleshooting for SAP Fiori and Gateway, including alignment between front-end access and backend authorisations.
- Own security-related incidents and service requests through to resolution,



including root-cause analysis for recurring or significant access issues.

SuccessFactors EC/ECP Security

- Provide BAU security administration and support for SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) and Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
- Administer and troubleshoot Role-Based Permissions (RBP), including permission roles, permission groups and target populations.
- Investigate EC/ECP security and authorisation issues in collaboration with HR functional, technical and support teams.
- Support security dependencies across SuccessFactors, ECP and the broader SAP setting.

Access Governance, Risk & Compliance

- Support segregation of duties (SoD), privileged and sensitive access controls, periodic access reviews and remediation of identified access risks.
- Perform routine reviews of SAP security configurations and controls and support internal and external audit requirements.
- Support remediation of security vulnerabilities, audit findings and control weaknesses affecting SAP systems.
- Contribute to security incident response, investigation and remediation where SAP systems or access controls are impacted.

ERP Transformation Support

- Provide SAP Security support where ERP Transformation changes or testing impact the existing SAP landscape.
- Support assessment, testing and deployment of transformation-driven security changes while protecting BAU stability and established security controls.
- Work with transformation resources on dependencies affecting the current SAP security landscape, while keeping BAU support as the primary focus.

About You

You are an experienced,



hands-on SAP Security professional who is comfortable operating in a large, business-critical enterprise environment. You take ownership of issues through to resolution and can balance strong security controls with practical operational outcomes.

You will bring:

- Extensive SAP Security experience, ideally 8+ years, supporting complex enterprise SAP environments.
- Strong experience with SAP roles, authorisations and enterprise access administration.
- Experience supporting SuccessFactors EC/ECP security, including Role-Based Permissions (RBP).
- Experience supporting SAP Fiori and NetWeaver/Gateway security.
- Experience with access governance controls including SoD, privileged/sensitive access, access reviews and audit remediation.
- A good understanding of SAP BASIS concepts and the technical dependencies affecting SAP security and authentication.
- A good understanding of SAP cloud identity, authentication or provisioning services associated with BTP/SuccessFactors environments.
- Working knowledge of enterprise security and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NIST and ASD Essential Eight.
- Experience operating within a large corporate or retail technology environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical, functional and business teams.
