Bioprocess Engineer – NPI at Skin2neuron

Laboratory Technician

The Laboratory Technician will provide essential practical support to manufacturing at Skin2Neuron (based at University of Technology Sydney). Role is full time to June 30 2026 with potential for ongoing engagement thereafter.

Key responsibilities

- Assist S2N’s Bioprocess engineer in manufacture tasks including the operation of the CliniMACS Prodigy (and related equipment) in accordance with established batch records, SOPs, and guidelines
- Perform manufacture sampling and contribute to sample analysis
- Perform routine preparation and wrap-up tasks for S2N’s manufacture
- Assist in manufacture record keeping, such as scribing and recording of deviations
- Assist in maintaining manufacture laboratory equipment and work spaces. This includes organising preventative maintenance for equipment and replacing gas cylinders.
- Assist in maintaining S2N’s cryo-storage by ensuring timely supply of liquid nitrogen and appropriate sample handling/storage
- Communicate activities and assist other production team members
- Participate in training sessions and continuing education to stay updated on best practices and new technologies.




- Comply with Skin2Neuron’s company policies and maintain a collaborative working environment

Selection criteria

- Certificate 4/Diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Laboratory Technician) or Bachelor’s degree (e.g., Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering).
- Ability to accommodate irregular work schedule during the manufacture of a cell line, including after hours, weekends, and public holidays. Overtime penalty rates apply.
- Full working rights in NSW, Australia and ability to start role immediately
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Demonstration of problem solving skills & ability to work under pressure
- Familiarity with basic software (e.g. MS Office) and high computer literacy
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced workplace & willingness to learn
- Strong communication and ability to execute tasks accurately and as instructed

Desired attributes

- Previous experience in a commercial laboratory or GMP setting (including internships)
- Previous exposure to cell culture work
