Our client is looking for an experienced Building Operations Manager to take charge of our construction and trades operations. This is a genuine leadership prospect for someone who wants accountability, autonomy, and a direct seat at the management table.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Company Director, you'll oversee the supervisor team, trade staff and contractors across a diverse mix of building, maintenance and upgrade projects, including social housing, government and insurance works. You won't be expected to do everything yourself — you'll lead through your supervisors and work closely with our HR and Accounts teams — but you will be ultimately accountable for making sure the job gets done, done well, and done on time.

What you'll be responsible for

- Driving quality across every job, minimising variations and reworks
- Ensuring jobs are scheduled, resourced and delivered on time
- Managing trade labour resources, company vehicles, equipment and stock
- Coordinating supervisors and teams across our service area to avoid duplication and maximise efficiency
- Owning trade and employee inductions, and ensuring compliance stays current across the workforce




- Taking direct responsibility for site OH&S;/WHS, driving a strong safety culture across every job
- Playing an active leadership role — attending management and scheduling meetings as a core part of the team
- Jumping on the tools when it genuinely adds value, while keeping your focus on leading the operation

What we're looking for

- Experience building and supervision experience
- Experience in construction, maintenance and upgrade works — social housing, government or insurance work experience highly regarded
- A track record of managing site safety, inductions and compliance
- A self-starter who takes ownership and doesn't need to be chased or micromanaged
- Strong communicator, comfortable dealing with tradespeople, contractors, clients and stakeholders alike
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, Bendigo, with a genuine willingness to travel across the service area
