About the role
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for assessing the overall information technology needs of assigned projects and programs. With a focus on delivering value-driven solutions, the role collaborates closely with stakeholders, including project managers, developers and end-users to ensure business needs are accurately captured and addressed. The analyst facilitates communication between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring a clear understanding of business requirements and technical capabilities to improve efficiency and productivity, and guides the implementation of fit-for-purpose solutions.
Responsibilities
- Assess IT needs of assigned projects and programs.
- Facilitate business requirement gathering workshops with participants ranging from senior management to end users.
- Translate business needs into operational and technical solutions.
- Communicate business requirements and technical capabilities to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Guide implementation of fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Work hybrid: two days per week on-site in Sydney or Melbourne and three days from home.
What You Bring
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret customer business needs and processes and translate them into practical operational solutions.
- Robust interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and understand business contexts through workshops, meetings and shared documents.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating business requirement workshops involving participants from senior management to business users.
- Ability to produce requirement artefacts such as business requirement documentation, functional specifications and data-flow diagrams.
- Ability to operate successfully within a geographically dispersed team.
- Competent understanding of Project Management disciplines.
- Competent understanding of enterprise application platforms such as ERP, CRM and/or HRIS.
- Ability to assess, evaluate and solve problems and exercise initiative and judgment where practices and procedures are not clearly defined.
