Design Manager

Responsibilities

As a Design Manager, you will:

- Develop overall project architecture and connection arrangements for renewable energy projects.
- Assist in the selection of key equipment and the development of functional specifications.
- Support the tendering and technical negotiation of major contracts.
- Contribute to cost estimation for various project designs and scopes.
- Scope and specify early site investigations and early works requirements.
- Manage and review early design works undertaken by EPC contractors.
- Oversee scope interfaces between multiple contracting parties.
- Review final designs submitted by EPC contractors and participate in design workshops.
- Provide general project management support and contribute to broader development activities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Have experience with HV electrical and protection concept design.
- Possess knowledge of SCADA and control systems for solar and battery storage projects.




- Demonstrate a robust understanding of the design requirements and delivery models for solar and battery storage projects in Australia.
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Be adept at managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Be a proactive problem solver with a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Day-to-Day

Your daily activities will include:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop project designs and specifications.
- Engaging with contractors and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Reviewing technical designs and providing feedback to ensure compliance with project goals.
- Conducting site investigations and coordinating early works activities.
- Managing project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
- Participating in design workshops and contributing to technical discussions.
