About the role

As Director, Business and Vendor Engagement, you will play a pivotal role in connecting business priorities, technology delivery, and vendor performance to drive successful outcomes across Housing Australia’s technology portfolio. Acting as the key interface between stakeholders, technology teams, and external service providers, you will lead portfolio governance, demand planning, and vendor engagement to ensure initiatives are strategically aligned, effectively governed, and deliver maximum value to the organisation. This is a highly visible leadership role offering the prospect to influence enterprise-wide transformation and strengthen the partnerships that enable Housing Australia’s digital future.

Key responsibilities

- Partner with business stakeholders to align technology demand with organisational priorities, ensuring initiatives are clearly defined, prioritised, and governed to deliver maximum business value.
- Provide portfolio-wide oversight of Technology & Digital initiatives, managing visibility of priorities, dependencies, risks, resources, vendor commitments,



and delivery outcomes across the technology portfolio.
- Lead strategic vendor engagement and governance, overseeing supplier performance, service delivery, contractual obligations, risk management, and value realisation for business-critical technology services.
- Drive technology governance, reporting, and commercial management, ensuring consistent executive reporting, effective decision-making, strong controls, and alignment with organisational, security, and compliance requirements.
- Lead and develop the Business Engagement Partner team, fostering a high-performing, customer-focused culture and building capability in stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and portfolio governance.

Skills And Experiences

Skills and experience

- Proven experience in portfolio (PMO), program, or business engagement leadership, with the ability to prioritise competing demands, manage dependencies, and provide strategic advice on delivery, risk, and investment decisions.
- Strong vendor and commercial management expertise, including managing technology suppliers, SaaS providers, service performance, contracts, SLAs, KPIs, procurement processes, and value realisation outcomes.




- Broad understanding of technology environments and governance, including third-party risk, cyber security, data, enterprise architecture, integration, and service management within complex organisations.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior executives, vendors, and technical teams, deliver executive-level reporting, and develop high-performing teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in technology, business, project management, commercial management, governance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience) are highly regarded.
