The Role
The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come.
SRF-West is a critical enabler for Australia’s Nuclear Powered Submarine (NPS) capability and broader AUKUS objectives. The Integrated Logistic Support Officer provides support within the SRF-West Delivery branch to ensure readiness and sustainment of trilateral operations.
The roles provides a single point of accountability for SRF-West logistics and asset management across AUKUS partner nations and Australian Government agencies to achieve essential project milestones. This role can be filled from either Canberra or WA. A merit pool will be established to fill future logistics family roles.

- Applies quality assurance principles, including gathering and managing Objective Quality Evidence to support accountability.
- Is proactive in continuous improvement, with the ability to capture lessons learned, refine processes and deliver training or guidance to build capability.
- The candidate may be required to contribute to policy and process refinement activities to improve sustainment outcomes.

The proposed key functions of this position include:
- ERP Integration and Inventory Management through coordination with AUKUS partners
- Ensure data accuracy and compliance with Defence logistics standards, provide a single point of coordination and assurance to develop the asset management and governance and structures;
- Develop and align logistics requirements and processes with key stakeholders, and build and sustain relationships at strategic and operational levels to ensure effective coordination;
- Capture observations, insights and lessons (OILs), and recommend process enhancements for logistics and asset management practices in the endeavour of continuous improvement; and
- Project management delivery and support through development of project activities and coordination of milestones to achieve key AUKUS outcomes, monitor progress and report on schedule and milestone performance.
