The Role
Austrade's TradeStart network delivers Austrade services through local public sector and industry organisations throughout Australia. In Queensland these services are delivered by Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ).
As the Principal Trade and Investment Officer - TradeStart (Critical and Enabling Technologies), you will deliver high-value trade and investment outcomes for Queensland businesses by leveraging the combined capabilities of TIQ, Austrade and Queensland's innovation ecosystem.
You will support innovative Queensland companies to enter recent markets while identifying opportunities to attract investment into Queensland's critical and enabling technologies sectors, including Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, Cybersecurity, Quantum, Data Centres, enabling technologies, sportstech, fintech and more.

The ideal candidate is commercially minded,
relationship-focused and motivated by helping innovative Queensland businesses succeed internationally while contributing to Queensland's attractiveness as a destination for investment, innovation and growth. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, build credibility quickly and enjoy working across government, industry and international networks to deliver practical outcomes. You are comfortable working with ambiguity, balancing competing priorities and translating complex information into actionable advice.
