The Organisation:

Join a well-respected government department committed to creating secure and positive outcomes for its customers. You will support the Financial Accounting team to ensure accurate completion of financial reports and meeting deadlines. This role is initially a temporary position for 6 months. There is a possibility this role will be extended.

The Position:

This role will ultimately require you to take ownership of the month-end activities.

You will be responsible for:

- Provide advice on financial accounting issues, policies, guidelines, methodologies and systems
- Providing assistance in relation to end-of-month accounting processes, including journals, bank reconciliations, and accruals
- Disposal and acquisition of fixed assets
- Assist with data migration project when required

Your Profile:

This role will be an ideal opportunity if:

- You have strong financial accounting technical skills and can provide advice on complex financial accounting matters.
- Your strong Excel skills will allow you to work with large volumes of data
- You have incredibly strong attention to detail.
- You are used to working in large, complex organisations
- It is advantageous but not critical that you are CPA/CA qualified
- You should have very strong Excel skills and ERP systems experience, preferably SAP
