Disability Support Worker - Male Portuguese Speaking

Fluent in Portuguese – this is an essential requirement

Experienced in providing personal and physical support

Comfortable assisting with transfers and mobility

Reliable and committed to regular Saturday and Sunday shifts

Patient, respectful and person-centred

Confident working with manual handling equipment and following support plans

We are looking for someone who is:

- Male
- Fluent in Portuguese – this is an essential requirement
- Experienced in providing personal and physical support
- Comfortable assisting with transfers and mobility
- Reliable and committed to regular Saturday and Sunday shifts
- Patient, respectful and person-centred
- Confident working with manual handling equipment and following support plans

Physical Support Requirements

The participant requires assistance with:

- Transfers using a Sara Steady and transfer belt
- Use of a commode for showering and toileting
- Personal care and daily living activities
- Secure manual handling and mobility support





Shifts Available

Saturday & Sunday – ongoing weekend work

The successful applicant will ideally be available consistently across both weekend days.

About You

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys supporting others and can provide care with dignity, patience and respect. Experience with physical disability, transfers, personal care and NDIS participants will be highly regarded.

Essential:

- Fluent Portuguese speaking ability
- Male
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- Current CPR
- Relevant Support Worker experience
- Ability to undertake physical support and manual handling

Highly regarded:

- Experience with Sara Steady transfers
- Experience with personal care and toileting
- Experience supporting people with complex physical needs
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or a related field
