Eden Ritchie Recruitment

Queensland

An exceptional opportunity exists for an accomplished Financial Controller to join a newly established, private equity-backed organisation operating within one of the world's fastest-growing infrastructure sectors. The business has recently acquired a significant portfolio of Australian data centre assets and established a standalone operating platform. Led by an experienced executive team, the organisation is entering an important phase of operational establishment, transformation and growth.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller will be a key member of the senior finance leadership team, with responsibility for establishing and leading a high-performing operational finance function. This is a broad and influential role combining financial control, Board and shareholder reporting, finance transformation, commercial insight and team leadership.

The Financial Controller will provide the financial discipline, governance and reporting capability required to support a sophisticated shareholder environment and a rapidly evolving business.

You will take ownership of the integrity of financial reporting across a multi‑entity Group, ensuring executives, the Board and shareholders receive timely, accurate and insightful information. At the same time, you will work closely with the CFO and operational leadership to strengthen commercial decision‑making, improve financial performance and build scalable finance capabilities to support future growth.

A significant component of the mandate will be the opportunity to shape systems, controls, reporting frameworks and processes, including leading the implementation and optimisation of Oracle NetSuite and developing contemporary executive and Board reporting dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

- Leading the Group's operational finance function across financial accounting, AP, AR, banking, working capital, procurement and asset management.
- Delivering statutory, management and consolidated financial reporting across multiple Group entities.
- Preparing high‑quality monthly Board and shareholder reporting, including financial performance, KPI dashboards, cash flow analysis and operational commentary.
- Providing sophisticated variance, profitability, liquidity and working capital analysis to support executive and shareholder decision‑making.
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, taxation compliance, year‑end audit and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Developing institutional‑quality financial reporting to support shareholders, investors and lenders.
- Supporting future due diligence and capital raising activities.
- Leading finance systems implementation and optimisation, including NetSuite.
- Establishing scalable financial controls, policies, processes and governance frameworks.
- Partnering with senior operational stakeholders to strengthen financial accountability and commercial performance.
- Building, mentoring and developing a high‑performing finance team.

About You

- Significant post‑qualification financial accounting and controllership experience.
- CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification,

supported by tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business or a related discipline.
- Exposure to a private equity‑backed business and Board/investor reporting environments will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience leading finance transformation and improving financial processes, controls and reporting.
- ERP implementation experience, ideally involving Oracle NetSuite.
- Solid commercial finance, analytical and business partnering capability.
- A sophisticated understanding of financial reporting, accounting standards, taxation, compliance and financial governance.
- The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and credibly to executive, Board and shareholders.
- Strong leadership capability and the confidence to build an effective finance function in an evolving environment.
- High levels of judgement, integrity, attention to detail and personal accountability.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This opportunity will appeal to a commercially minded senior finance professional who combines strong technical accounting foundations with the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. This is not a traditional Financial Controller appointment into an established finance environment, this represents an opportunity to join a newly formed business at a formative point in its development, working alongside an experienced leadership team and sophisticated shareholders to establish the financial foundations of a significant Australian infrastructure platform.
