Are you looking for a stable, permanent career where you're active, dealing with people and playing an important role in keeping a busy market environment operating safely and efficiently?

We are seeking a reliable, professional and proactive Market Operations Officer to join a busy market environment in Homebush.

This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety, including interacting with traders, customers and visitors, monitoring safety and compliance, conducting patrols and responding to operational issues.

Previous market experience is highly advantageous, but not essential. We're also keen to hear from candidates with backgrounds in operations, logistics, warehousing, security, facilities, compliance or customer-facing roles.

About the Role

Conduct regular market patrols and inspections

Monitor safety, security and compliance

Identify and respond to hazards and operational issues

Enforce market rules and procedures professionally

Prepare accurate incident and operational reports

Respond to incidents and emergency situations

Assist with fire safety and first aid requirements

Provide professional service to traders, customers and visitors

Use radios, mobile phones and computer systems

Collect revenue and issue receipts when required

Maintain safe and professional market areas

Operate company vehicles and forklifts when required

Work closely with the wider Operations team





Strong communication and professionalism are essential when dealing with market traders, customers, visitors and the wider community.

What We're Looking For

Previous market experience – highly advantageous, not essential

Experience in operations, logistics, warehousing, security, facilities, compliance or customer service

Current Class C Driver Licence

Forklift / HRW Licence highly advantageous

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Confident dealing with people and challenging situations

Good computer skills and attention to detail

Strong commitment to workplace health and safety

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

First Aid Certificate highly regarded

Fire safety experience advantageous

Positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn

Flexibility to work predominantly early morning shifts, with occasional afternoon shifts

Early Morning Shifts – Flexibility Essential

The majority of shifts are early morning starts.

Typical shifts include:

1:00am – 8:30am
2:00am – 11:00am

There may also be an occasional afternoon shift, such as 3:00pm – 10:00pm, so flexibility is important.

Shortlisted candidates must also be available for an early morning interview, potentially from 5:00am.
