The organisation
NSW Treasury is the NSW Government’s principal whole-of-government financial and economic adviser.
Treasury provides advice to inform budget decision-making; manages the State’s principal financial assets and liabilities; identifies opportunities for economic reform, monitors and forecasts the economy and state revenues, monitors the performance of its commercial agencies; and advises on performance and financial management policies.
The team and purpose of the role
The Economic Strategy and Productivity (ESP) Group aims to improve wellbeing in NSW by providing rigorous, evidence-based economic and tax policy advice and strategy, conducting research, developing policies, implementing government decisions and driving informed public discussion.

The Deputy Secretary, Economic Strategy and Productivity provides executive leadership and strategic direction to lead a high-performing team to deliver the Government’s economic and tax revenue policy initiatives on a whole of government basis, consistent with the highest level of probity, best practice and statutory compliance.
