This is an excellent opportunity for an Intermediate Tax & Business Services Accountant to join their established Cairns team. Working closely with senior accountants and managers, you will manage your own compliance workload, develop greater client interaction and expand your technical exposure while benefiting from hands-on support, structured guidance, and clear progression toward Senior Accountant level.
The Role:
- Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships and companies
- Manage BAS preparation and lodgement
- Assist with tax compliance and advisory matters under senior supervision
- Communicate directly with clients for information gathering and routine queries
- Support senior accountants with workflow and client deliverables
- Maintain strong compliance standards, accuracy, and deadline management
- Build technical capability and broaden exposure to more complex client matters
About You:
- Degree qualified in Accounting or related discipline
- Currently studying CA or CPA, intending to commence, or recently qualified
- 2–4 years’ experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm
- Sound understanding of Australian tax and accounting fundamentals
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, or similar accounting software
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
