HLM is seeking interest for Land Management Field Officer positions for suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic crew members or new starters to join our successful team. Work will include land regeneration management and vertebrate pest control contracting works and working with other staff undertaking Field Officer roles.

Hourly rate will be based on experience, qualification and skills. Hourly rate paid from Depot to Depot each shift.

Location is based in Maitland, Hunter Valley, NSW. The position does involve travel and work in remote and/or rugged locations.

The successful applicant will undertake the tasks associated with Land Regeneration and Vertebrate Pest Control including allocating general daily tasks to the crew (Snr), however be directed and report to the Managing Director of the company.

Scope of Tasks

- Weed identification, management, monitoring and spraying
- Vertebrate Pest Management
- Bush regeneration
- Tree Planting
- Seed Collection
- Equipment Use and Maintenance
- Fencing
- Daily activity reporting

This role is not limited to the above-mentioned tasks, this is a general overview of the minimum tasks performed by the company.

Skills you need

- Demonstrate robust interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work individually, as well as part of a team
- Ability to work unsupervised after initial direction
- Competent use of electronic mobile devices
- Ability to problem solve on the run and work with others to reach solutions.

Position Requirements:
- Physical fitness is essential to perform tasks in remote and/or rugged locations.
- Read, understand and comply with safety procedures (Company Policy & Procedures, Client Policy & Procedures,



Job Safety Analysis and General Risk Assessments);
- Read, understand and report daily herbicide use;
- Competently complete pre-start checks and maintain vehicles, machinery and equipment;
- Wear PPE at all times when required;
- Successfully complete a Pre-placement Coal Services medical;
- Successfully complete Drug and Alcohol screenings

Entry Qualifications and Experience

Field Officer

- Minimum 6 months experience (unless demonstrated ability in lieu of formal experience) in regeneration, land management, agriculture or relevant industry
- Demonstrated, genuine interest in the industry
- Manual Drivers Licence
- General Construction Induction Training – White Card

Preferable:
- 4WD Training
- Order 43 Mine Site Medical
- First Aid Certificate (Current)
- Chainsaw Certificate
- AQF3 / Chemical Users Accreditation

Senior Experienced Field Officer

- Minimum 3 years experience in regeneration, land management, agriculture or relevant industry
- Mine Site experience
- Current Order 43 Coal Services Approved Medical
- Manual Drivers Licence
- AQF3 / Chemical Users Accreditation
- NSW EPA Ground Applicators Licence
- General Construction Induction Training – White Card
- Relevant Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Agriculture and/or Land Management

Preferable:
- 4WD Training
- First Aid Certificate (Current)
- Chainsaw Certificate
- Order 43 Mine Site Medical
