Learning Online Group is one of the leading online course providers across Australia, New Zealand and Canada, with multiple education brands across these countries. We teach thousands of students in everything from beauty to photography, animals and agriculture, helping them turn an interest into a real skill or a new career.

As our course catalogue keeps growing, we're looking for a Learning Designer to help us build online courses that students genuinely love learning from. If you know how to turn subject matter into clear, engaging, well-structured online learning, and you're already using AI to work smarter, we'd love to hear from you.

Duties & Responsibilities

You'll own the design and build of new courses and refreshes, working alongside subject matter experts, videographers and our production team to bring each course to life. Your job is to make the learning clear, logical and engaging from start to finish.

You'll be

- Designing and building online courses from the ground up, structured for real learning
- Working with subject matter experts to turn their knowledge into course content
- Writing explicit, engaging course materials aligned to learning outcomes
- Designing assignments, quizzes and assessments that actually test understanding
- Collaborating with video and multimedia specialists to bring content to life
- Reviewing video output and giving editorial feedback
- Proofreading and editing to keep everything accurate and consistent




- Managing timelines and keeping course production on track
- Using AI tools to streamline design and lift the quality of the student experience

Desired Experience & Qualification

What matters most is:

- 2-3 years experience in learning design, instructional design, or a related education role
- A portfolio or samples of online courses or learning content you've designed
- A solid grasp of instructional design principles and how people learn online
- Experience building courses for online, learner-centred delivery
- Hands on experience using AI in the design process, plus basic prompt engineering (e.g. ChatGPT or similar)
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex ideas simply
- Strong attention to detail and the discipline to hit deadlines
- Comfort working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Your ability to work remotely (Robust Wifi, back up power)
- Your availability to work a shift starting at 4/5am SA time.

Nice to have:

- A tertiary qualification in education or a related field
- Project management experience

Package & Remuneration

- R360,000 – R390,000 ZAR per year (base salary, based on experience).
