Exciting opportunity to work with an established client delivering a strong pipeline of retail and food and beverage projects, taking developments from front‑end feasibility through to completion and operations across multiple stages.

Our client is an established and highly regarded operator with a strong presence in the retail and food & beverage amongst other sectors. They are now seeking an experienced Senior Development Manager with experience in Retail and F&B; to join their professional and highly experienced team based in Sydney.

Our client values driven, proactive candidates with a genuine passion for delivering high-quality retail and F&B; assets. You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills, commercial acumen, and a problem‑solving mindset. There will be a lot of interfaces with complex stakeholders and you will need strong development management experience within the retail and food & beverage sector.

Duties include but not limited to:

- Managing the end‑to‑end delivery of retail projects from feasibility through to completion and operation
- Leading and coordinating consultants across design, approvals and construction phases
- Managing DA, CC and authority approval processes with councils and key stakeholders
- Driving design management and ensuring outcomes align with commercial and leasing objectives
- Managing construction delivery, program, quality and risk (might be shared with a Project Manager)
- Control of project cash flow, budgets and month‑end financial reporting




- Managing project design documentation and consultant outputs
- Reviewing and marking up drawings to provide clear technical and commercial direction
- Attending all project and stakeholder meetings

Skills & Experience:

- 7 to 10+ years’ experience in development management, project management or head contracting. Must have strong development management experience.
- Strong exposure to retail and food & beverage projects
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Property, Construction Management, Engineering, or similar
- Sound understanding of the retail development lifecycle from feasibility to handover
- Strong technical capability in consultant coordination and construction delivery
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly proactive, self‑directed and commercially astute
- Robust problem‑solving capability
- Superior knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
