Home Care Support Worker – Lithgow Area

We are currently seeking caring, reliable and motivated Home Care Support Workers to join our team in the Lithgow area.

About the Role

As a Home Care Support Worker, you will provide practical, social and personal support to clients in their homes and in the community. This role is ideal for someone compassionate, dependable, and enjoys making a meaningful difference in the lives of older people.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties may include:

- Domestic assistance, including general cleaning, laundry, meal preparation and household tasks
- Social support, including assistance with shopping, appointments and community outings
- Personal care, including showering, toileting, dressing, transfers, mobility support, feeding and continence care
- Medication prompting and supervision, in line with care plans and company procedures
- Companionship and dementia support
- Supporting clients with mobility, light exercise and daily routines
- Monitoring and reporting changes in a client’s health, wellbeing or circumstances




- Completing accurate documentation and progress notes
- Attending training, supervision and team meetings as required

Essential Criteria

- Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent, preferred but not mandatory
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain
- Evidence of influenza vaccination
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination, minimum two doses
- Smartphone with internet access
- Basic computer and documentation skills
- Flexibility with working hours

- Genuine motivation and commitment to caring for older people
- Respectful, compassionate and person-centred approach
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow care plans, procedures and directions
- Confidence supporting clients with different needs, including dementia or changed behaviours
- Good time management and reliability
- Previous experience in aged care, home care or community care is desirable but not essential
