Azure Integration Engineer (DevOps & Support)

Overview

Uniting is seeking an experienced Azure Integration Engineer to take ownership of the design, reliability, automation, and support of our Azure-based integration environment. This is a hands‑on engineering role at the heart of how our enterprise systems communicate across finance, care, and community platforms. You’ll combine integration engineering, DevOps automation, and production support to ensure our data exchange is secure, scalable, and resilient. If you enjoy building things properly, automating everything you can, and improving operational stability through smart engineering, this role is for you.

What you’ll be responsible for

Integration Engineering

- Design, build, and maintain enterprise integration solutions using Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Service Bus, Event Grid and Event Hub
- Develop integration services to consume and expose APIs across internal systems and third‑party vendors
- Support both cloud‑native and hybrid/on‑premise integration scenarios
- Contribute to patterns and standards for enterprise integration

DevOps & Automation

- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, and/or Terraform)
- Ensure consistent, repeatable deployments across Dev, Test, UA, T, and Production
- Establish version control and deployment standards for integration and infrastructure assets

Operations & Production Support

- Provide production support for integration workloads, including incident response, RCA, and problem management
- Monitor and optimise performance using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics
- Improve resilience,



alerting, and availability to reduce incidents and downtime

Security & Governance

- Implement secure API patterns using APIM policies
- Apply authentication and authorisation using Azure Active Directory / Entra ID
- Support API lifecycle management, including versioning, throttling, and access control
- Work closely with architects and security teams to align with organisational standards

Collaboration & Documentation

- Translate requirements into scalable integration solutions with architects, developers, and business analysts
- Maintain clear technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures

What you’ll bring

Technical capability

- Strong hands‑on experience with Azure Integration Services
- Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines and automation
- Solid understanding of DevOps principles
- Strong troubleshooting skills across complex integration environments
- Experience with .NET / C#
- Valuable understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and data integration

Professional capability

- Ownership and accountability for outcomes
- Clear and confident communication across technical and non‑technical teams
- Structured problem‑solving and sound judgement
- Ability to balance delivery priorities with operational stability

Qualifications & experience

- Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5–8+ years’ experience in integration, cloud engineering or DevOps roles




- Significant hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure
- Proven experience supporting production systems in enterprise environments
