The Commercial team sits at the heart of fashion, product and customer insight – blending data, trends and commercial smarts to shape what our customers see, love and shop next. The Category Buying team partners closely with Planning to curate exciting, customer‑first ranges that drive sales, maximise profit and keep THE ICONIC ahead of the curve. Planners are strategic problem‑solvers and creative analytical thinkers who analyse and forecast financial and product trends, review product performance, and ensure adequate stock. They collaborate with brands and suppliers on price structures, delivery dates, merchandise requirements and contracts.
We are looking for a Senior Planner to join our Menswear team.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicates confidently with senior management, respectfully challenging when required
- Uses influence and knowledge to drive department growth
- Effectively manages prioritisation of own and direct team’s workload during peak planning periods
- Strives for continuous improvement in own department – processes, systems or tools
- Is comfortable in all situations, taking challenges in their stride
- Drives department strategy and contributes to wider segment strategy
- Develops a mid‑to‑long term strategic view to drive growth and profit for the department
- Manages all aspects of the new season strategy, ensuring a comprehensive strategy pack backed by a solid financial plan is delivered and implemented
- Suggests actions to take based on potential future concerns, either based on economic or social trends
- Anticipates Planning Manager's needs and prepares documentation,
analysis or responses ahead of time
- Works closely with Planning Manager and Buyers to maximise profit for the season
- Monitors all facets of the department, implements plans for any under‑performing categories and brands, and identifies ways to potentialise opportunities
- Proposes marketing campaigns to the planning manager ensuring promotional activity delivers best possible outcome, retaining margin

- Deputises for Planning Manager in absence
- Ensures training and development needs for direct reports are met
