ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have multiple opportunities available across the Internal Communications and Engagement team, if your skillset/experience aligns to any of the below positions and criteria, we’d love to hear from you!

- Engagement Specialist – Position located in WA
- Communications Specialist – Position can be located in SA or WA
- Communications Specialist (Transformation Office) – Position located in SA




- Communications Advisor – Position can be located in SA or WA

Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging internal communications and employee engagement initiatives that keep ASC’s workforce informed, connected, and inspired.
- Plan and execute strategic communication and engagement programs aligned with ASC’s business objectives and transformation priorities.
- Create compelling content and experiences—including written, visual, and digital materials—that strengthen culture and employee pride.
- Manage and maintain digital platforms and channels, ensuring they remain accurate, engaging, and a trusted source of information.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels to understand needs and provide expert advice and support.
- Coordinate and deliver events, activities, and recognition programs that foster collaboration, wellbeing, and a positive employee experience.
- Ensure compliance with governance, brand, and communication standards, while supporting ASC’s values and organisational requirements.
- Champion continuous improvement and innovation in communication and engagement practices to enhance ASC’s reputation as an employer of choice.

About You

- Tertiary qualifications in communications, media, HR or a related discipline.
- 2-5+ years’ experience (depending on the position) in communications, engagement, or related roles, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality initiatives.




- Robust written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing clear, compelling content for diverse audiences.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, working confidently across all organisational levels.
- Solid project management and organisational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High level of initiative, adaptability, and problem‑solving, thriving in energetic and evolving environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with digital platforms (e.g., SharePoint, intranet systems).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contributing to a positive and high‑performing culture.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, with a focus on enhancing employee experience and engagement.

These roles require a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
