Description About the Role Brisbane Girls Grammar School invites applications for a Private Music Teacher – Cello to support our Instrumental Music Program across the Junior and Senior Schools. The School's Instrumental Music Program provides students of all musical abilities with high-quality instruction and enriching musical experiences, including vibrant concerts and events. The Private Music Teacher – Cello will attend the School for one day per week to provide four hours of tuition, with the weekday to be agreed. As the Private Music Teacher – Cello, you will: Deliver engaging, age-appropriate cello lessons to Junior School (years 5-6) and Senior School (years 7-12) students, developing foundational skills while fostering a love of music Plan and implement structured lessons that develop technique, rhythm, coordination, and musical literacy Prepare students for performances, concerts, and, where appropriate, examination pathways Communicate effectively with students, parents,
and staff about student progress, goals, and practice expectations Maintain accurate attendance records, support ensemble participation where relevant, and contribute positively to the wider Music Program. About You The successful applicant will demonstrate: Relevant music teaching, performance, or equivalent professional qualifications Comprehensive understanding of and expertise in teaching cello Excellent technological literacy The ability to work collaboratively and energetically within a high-performing school culture.
