What you'll be doing

This position will work within the Sustaining NSW Families (SNF) Plus team and be responsible for providing holistic and culturally sensitive care.

What are the selection criteria

- This is an Aboriginal Identified position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such. An applicant's race is a genuine occupational qualification for this role and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW. Applicants must demonstrate Aboriginality in addition to addressing the selection criteria.
- Certificate III or IV Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) with current registration as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Or willingness to complete within 2 years.
- Understanding of the challenges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families may experience in accessing health services.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with health professionals in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).
- Demonstrated skills in supporting client assessment, support, assistance, care navigation and advocacy in health or related field and have the ability to develop and deliver culturally appropriate programs and resources
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, time management and computer literacy, including word processing and data entry skills.
