GoodMind is a clinician-led mental health service delivering Esketamine (Spravato®) treatment for patients with treatment-resistant depression. We operate a network of accredited treatment clinics across Australia, working in close collaboration with referring psychiatrists and GPs to deliver secure, structured, evidence-based care.
We are at an inflection point. With five clinics operating and a clear path to fifteen, we are building the operational and technical foundations that will allow us to scale without proportionally scaling headcount. This is the problem you will own.
The Role
This isn’t a typical engineering role. You’ll be the first dedicated technical hire, helping shape how technology supports GoodMind’s growth. Today, our operations run across a small set of core systems built around a PMS and a CRM. The immediate focus is on connecting these systems in a smart, reliable way, making sure the right information reaches the right people, and gradually building out both admin and patient-facing tools to support scale.
We’re prioritising integration and orchestration first, with greenfield development where it genuinely adds value. This isn’t about rewriting everything from scratch, but about making thoughtful, pragmatic improvements that move the business forward. If things go well, there’s room for this role to grow. Over time,
this could evolve into building out an engineering team, and potentially developing a broader product for the mental health clinic market.
About You
- 4+ years of experience, with clear evidence of owning systems end-to-end, ideally in healthtech, SaaS, or regulated environments
- Strong full-stack builder with solid integration experience across APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines
- You’ve seen both well-built and poorly-built systems and understand the trade-offs
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and turning ideas into clear build plans
- Able to partner with non-technical stakeholders and translate strategy into execution
- Pragmatic in approach, preferring to buy or integrate before building from scratch
- Interested in AI-assisted tooling and its role in lean operations
- Motivated by ownership, impact, and the opportunity to grow into a leadership role
Why This Role
- Real ownership from day one
- A balance of support from a fractional CTO but no bureaucracy
- Direct access to the founder and clinical leadership
- You shape what you're building and why
- A chance to work on something that genuinely matters
- The software you write has a direct downstream effect on patient outcomes
- Greenfield within a real business
- We are not a pre-revenue startup with no users and no feedback
