A growing specialist property development business is seeking a Design & Planning Manager to lead design and planning across its expanding portfolio of residential and specialist housing projects. This is a hands‑on role for someone with an architectural background who is comfortable producing concept designs to support acquisitions and driving planning approvals.

The Role

You will play a pivotal part in shaping projects from acquisition through planning approval, working closely with the acquisitions and development teams.

Responsibilities

- Supporting acquisitions through early‑stage concept designs, massing studies, and planning assessments
- Creating, managing, and evolving design briefs, standard designs, and specifications
- Overseeing planning approvals (DA and/or CDC pathways)
- Coordinating architects, planners, certifiers,



and other design consultants
- Conducting design reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance

About You

- Architectural background with strong design capability
- Experience in residential or multi‑residential developments
- SDA experience preferred but not essential
- CDC experience preferred but not essential
- Commercially minded, balancing design quality with delivery outcomes
- Cooperative, pragmatic, and hands‑on
