Utility Civil Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Civil Drainers to join our growing team in Brisbane, QLD 4000. This is a full time position that plays a crucial role in the design, installation, and maintenance of drainage systems that are essential to residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. As a Civil Drainer, you will be responsible for ensuring that drainage solutions are installed to the highest standards, meeting all regulatory requirements and contributing to the successful completion of projects across the Brisbane region. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects whilst utilising your technical expertise and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities

- Install, maintain, and repair drainage systems including pipes, culverts, and associated infrastructure
- Excavate trenches and prepare sites for drainage installation, ensuring proper grading and slope for optimal water flow
- Lay and connect pipes, conduits, and drainage fixtures in accordance with engineering plans and specifications
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify drainage issues and recommend appropriate solutions
- Test completed drainage systems to ensure they function correctly and meet safety and compliance standards
- Operate and maintain specialist equipment including excavators, compactors, and pipe-laying machinery
- Work collaboratively with other trades and project teams to ensure seamless project delivery
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies on site
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Civil Drainer or in a related drainage/civil works role
- Sound knowledge of drainage systems, pipe materials, and installation techniques




- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Competence in operating civil construction machinery and equipment safely
- Strong physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport to site locations
- Excellent understanding of health and safety practices relevant to civil works
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications such as a Drainage or Civil Works Certificate would be advantageous
- Knowledge of Queensland building codes and drainage standards is highly desirable
