About the Role

As a Sandblaster, you will play a critical role in preparing our industry‑leading trailers and components for painting and final finishing.

Working within our specialised Surface Finishing team, you'll be responsible for ensuring all components meet Drake's high standards of quality, durability, and workmanship before entering the coating process.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, values quality, and understands the importance of attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare trailers, components, and fabricated steel products for blasting




- Perform abrasive blasting to required specifications and quality standards
- Identify and report fabrication defects or surface issues prior to coating
- Ensure the correct blast profile and finish are achieved for each project
- Work closely with Supervisors and Leading Hands to meet production schedules
- Contribute to a safe, productive, and quality-focused workplace culture

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Previous sandblasting experience within manufacturing, heavy equipment, transport, mining, or similar industries
- Sound knowledge of blasting equipment, materials, and surface preparation techniques
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
- Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Forklift licence advantageous
