About the Role
As a Site Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the mechanical installation, assembly and commissioning of equipment and systems on project sites.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Mechanical installation, assembly and fitting of equipment and components.
- Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings and P&IDs.;
- Installing pipework, pumps, valves, tanks, mechanical equipment and associated components.
- Carrying out fitting, alignment, adjustment and mechanical works as required.
- Assisting with testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
- Working with supervisors, engineers, trades and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely and to a high standard.
- Identifying and resolving mechanical issues on site.
- Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and site requirements.
- Completing required site documentation and reporting as required.
- Travelling to project sites throughout Australia.
About You
You will be a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter, or have at least three years' relevant industry experience that may substitute for formal qualifications.
You will also have:
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and P&IDs.;
- High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
- Current driver's licence.
- White Card.
- Ability and willingness to travel and work on project sites throughout Australia.
- Experience in the water and wastewater, industrial, manufacturing or construction industries will be highly regarded.
