Opportunity
We are seeking a commercially minded, analytical Senior Commercial Analyst to join our team in Melbourne.
In this high-visibility, high-impact role, you won't just be crunching numbers—you will act as a true business partner to key stakeholders across all departments, including senior management and regional HQ teams. You will translate complex data into compelling narrative insights, shaping our commercial strategies, optimising store assortments, and directly driving performance across both local and export markets.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Performance & Insights
- Unlock Value: Identify and develop commercial improvement initiatives to drive revenue and operational performance.
- Business Partnering: Work directly with senior leadership to track performance against strategic goals and deliver ad-hoc executive decision support.
- Margin & Channel Analysis: Perform granular margin analysis across distribution channels (local and exports) to optimize product mix and profitability.
- Financial Planning & Modeling: Partner with IT/HQ to build robust Power BI reports; lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning cycles.
- Price & Product Management: Coordinate price changes with global HQ and analyze product sell-in/sell-out trends over a rolling 12-month period.
Demand Planning & Wholesale Strategy
- Demand Forecasting: Oversee monthly product forecast submissions in alignment with APAC Demand Planning and local commercial teams.
- Wholesale & Rebates: Manage, calculate, and optimize rebate programs, tactical incentives,
and commercial agreements.
Retail & Boutique Assortment
- Flagship Store Assortment: Define the vision for ideal product assortments across our proprietary boutiques.
- Stock Optimisation: Establish and maintain ideal stock depth by SKU and Store based on live demand patterns and business parameters.
Reporting & Operations
- Manage weekly sales best estimates and monthly reporting with high-quality strategic commentary for local and HQ leadership.
- Oversee data and user management for the Warranty Activation System.
About You
To succeed in this role, you bring a strong blend of financial acumen, data modeling capability, and senior stakeholder influence:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in a commercial business partnering / commercial analysis role within a complex environment (luxury, retail, or FMCG highly regarded).
- Data & BI Expertise: Proven track record in data modeling, with 2-3+ years co-developing BI tools such as Power BI and performance dashboards.
- Advanced Technical Skills: High proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint is essential. Exposure to SAP and Salesforce is an advantage.
- Storytelling & Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to turn complex analytics into executive-ready narratives and actionable business stories.
- Strategic Mindset: Robust problem-solving capabilities with a sharp eye for identifying growth opportunities and driving accountability.
