Jassal Construction Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Carpenter to join our construction team. We undertake construction and building projects that require skilled tradespeople who can deliver quality workmanship, work safely and accurately, and complete projects in accordance with plans and specifications.

About the Role

As a Carpenter with Jassal Construction, you will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of carpentry and building tasks across construction projects. You will work from architectural drawings, plans and specifications to measure, prepare, construct and install timber structures and building components. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently as well as collaboratively with builders, supervisors and other trades to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

- Reviewing building plans, drawings and specifications to determine construction requirements, measurements, materials and work methods.
- Measuring, marking and setting out timber and other materials before cutting and installation.
- Selecting and preparing appropriate timber, hardware and construction materials for each stage of the project.
- Cutting, shaping and joining timber components using hand and power tools.
- Constructing and installing wall frames, floor structures, roof framing and other structural components.
- Installing floorboards, sub-flooring, wall cladding, fascia, doors, windows and other building elements.




- Constructing timber frameworks and assembling prefabricated or prepared components on site.
- Forming and securing timber joints and ensuring structural components are properly aligned and level.
- Constructing and installing formwork for concrete works where required.
- Carrying out carpentry repairs, alterations and replacement works to existing structures and fittings.
- Installing internal and external timber fixtures and finishes in accordance with project specifications.
- Working with materials such as laminates, plastics, metals and other building products where required.
- Inspecting completed work to ensure measurements, alignment, finish and structural requirements have been achieved.
- Coordinating with supervisors and other trades to ensure carpentry works are completed efficiently and do not delay other stages of construction.
- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in good working condition.
- Following all applicable workplace health and safety requirements, site procedures and safe work practices.
- Performing other carpentry and construction duties relevant to the role as required.

Qualifications

- Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification (preferred but not required).

Skills & Experience

- Minimum 1 year experience working as a Carpenter in residential or commercial construction.
- Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.
- Competence in measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling timber and other construction materials.
- Practical experience with framing, flooring, roofing, cladding, doors and window installation.
- Ability to use carpentry hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely and effectively.
