The Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who enjoys being on site while also managing key project coordination tasks. You will be responsible for overseeing 1–2 fit out or construction projects at a time, with values ranging from $250K to $5M.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and Project Director, the Site Manager will lead all on‑site activities, driving safety, quality, and productivity across each project. This hands‑on role blends strong site leadership with project coordination to ensure successful delivery within programme and budget.
Key Responsibilities
Site-Based Responsibilities:
Manage daily site operations, subcontractors, and trades
Ensure WHS compliance, site inductions, and safety documentation
Coordinate deliveries, materials, and site logistics
Conduct quality inspections and ensure works meet drawings and specifications
Maintain site cleanliness, productivity, and programme targets
Liaise with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders on site
Project & Office-Based Responsibilities:
Deliver projects in accordance with the approved construction programme
Prepare and update construction programmes and provide weekly progress reports to the line Manager
Manage and supervise site teams and subcontractors, reporting directly to the line manager
Review and assess subcontractor and supplier progress claims for accuracy and compliance
Assess subcontractor variations and cost changes, assisting with cost control
Oversee WHS/OHS compliance across all sites, ensuring a secure and compliant work environment
Implement and maintain site‑specific safety plans and procedures
Implement and enforce quality control processes to ensure works meet contractual requirements
Inspect subcontractor works and materials to ensure compliance with tender and construction documentation
Identify, manage, and resolve site‑based construction issues proactively
Assist with project planning, scheduling, and procurement activities
Coordinate subcontractor engagement and construction sequencing
Review drawings and scopes to prevent and resolve construction issues
Maintain accurate site records, documentation, and reporting
Support the preparation of progress claims and Operations & Maintenance manuals
About You
Essential Experience & Skills:
Trade background or tertiary qualification in Construction Management
3+ years' experience as a Site Foreman, Manager, Senior Supervisor, or Project Manager preferably on commercial projects
Strong experience delivering hospitality, office, retail or fit out projects
Solid understanding of construction sequencing and subcontractor management
Confident communicator with clients, consultants, and site teams
Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
Demonstrated understanding of safety, health and environment best practice.
Construction White Card
Valid driver's licence and own vehicle
Strong knowledge of WHS and site compliance
Reliable, organised, and solutions‑focused
Flexible attitude and strong work ethic
