Specialist Cultural Facilitator - External Training
Position: Fixed Term (12 months), Full Time or Part Time, Location: Preston & Hybrid, Salary: $110,110 - $114,980 plus superannuation and salary package
About The Role
The role of Specialist Cultural Facilitator is to support the growth of sector capability in terms of building cultural understanding across the sector. This role will contribute to the development and delivery of VACCA's external training workshops, with a focus on child protection processes, and supporting child and family safety through a cultural lens. A key component of the role is to support facilitated training of cultural practice to Aboriginal and non‑Aboriginal staff across ACCO's, community services and government agencies. This will include providing group coaching to team leaders and practitioners to build competency and capability in cultural practice when working with Aboriginal children and families.
About You
- Commitment to and understanding of the values that underpin VACCA’ vision and purpose
- Experience in working within the child & family welfare sector
- Minimum Cert IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
- Regular statewide travel to regional Victoria
- Relevant experience in the child and family welfare sector including experience working with Aboriginal children, families and communities involved in statutory programs like Child Protection.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, culturally appropriate and respectful way with a range of stakeholders
- Strong understanding of and experience conducting training needs analysis along with designing, writing and delivering high‑quality, relevant training packages to address the identified need
- Capacity to engage and work with a diverse range of people along a continuum of cultural awareness and cultural competency
- Experience and confidence in workshop facilitation and/or public speaking
- Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID‑19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended).
