What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of this role will be the responsibility for the management of scientific, technical and support staff, all testing and associated activities and logistics for the assigned respiratory laboratory.
The position oversees the quality, cost and operational integrity of the department, regulatory compliance and accreditation of laboratory services in the department, workforce, business and resource management.
Responsible for managing the respiratory laboratory to provide an efficient and effective service and to meet agreed key performance indicators.

Responses to the questions below:
- Tertiary qualifications of at least a Bachelor's degree in Science/Biomedical Science or relevant field or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Proven leadership and operational management skills and experience including budget management, staff and resource management
- Advanced knowledge of Respiratory function testing and testing systems
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent clinical service with a high level of interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge and extensive experience working a respiratory laboratory with proven understanding of the theory and application of techniques
- Demonstrated experience with the implementation of quality improvement, risk management, professional standards and accreditations including an understanding of the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements in healthcare
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, clinical and laboratory staff, along with possessing negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively communicate policies and procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge and extensive experience working within a respiratory laboratory with children and with proven understanding of the theory and testing requirements.
