Diesel Mechanic | $50 an hour | Eagle Farm
Working as a Heavy Diesel Fitter / Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding Franna cranes and other lifting equipment. This position offers the opportunity for a mix of workshop and field service work, with exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, boom rebuilds, and advanced fault-finding.

- $45/hr - $50/hr + Super
- Overtime available
- 1.5x after 7.6 hours
- 2x after 3 hours overtime
- Annual bonus scheme up to 5% of salary (3.5% paid last year)
- Permanent full time employment
- 9-day fortnight roster
- Monday to Thursday: 8.1 hours per day
- Friday: 5.3-hour half day

The Role
Working as a Heavy Diesel Fitter / Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing,
and rebuilding Franna cranes and other lifting equipment. This position offers the opportunity for a mix of workshop and field service work, with exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, boom rebuilds, and advanced fault-finding.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and complete scheduled servicing and inspections of cranes and plant equipment.
- Carry out mechanical repairs, maintenance activities, and component overhauls.
- Perform fault-finding across hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct boom rebuilds and specific machining tasks where required.
- Maintain accurate service reports and maintenance documentation.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Supervise apprentices, trade assistants, and subcontractors when required.
- Represent the business professionally with key customers.
