About Skyline Higher Education Australia (SHEA)
Skyline Higher Education Australia (SHEA) is an Institute of Higher Education that seeks to inspire students to achieve academic success and create positive socio-economic change through innovation, science, technology, and collaboration.
SHEA is registered as an Institute of Higher Education under the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Act 2011 and is regulated by Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). It is also an approved CRICOS education provider under the ESOS Act 2000.
SHEA currently offers Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT), Bachelor of Information Technology specialising in Cybersecurity, Bachelor of Information Technology specialising in Artificial Intelligence and Master of Information Technology (MIT) with an AI pathway and will be looking at offering recent courses in the future.
About the role
The Student Services Officer provides comprehensive support services to students enrolled in Skyline Higher Education's (SHEA's) courses. The role contributes to a positive student experience through proactive support, coordination of student services and programs, and timely assistance throughout the student lifecycle. This role reports to the Registrar.
Key responsibilities
Provide comprehensive support to students throughout their student lifecycle at SHEA
Coordinate student orientation activities, liaising with internal departments to support the effective delivery of services and a positive experience for new students
Address and resolve student enquiries, issues and concerns in a timely and professional manner
Act as a liaison between students,
administration and other departments to facilitate access to services and contribute to an enhanced student experience at SHEA
Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the Student Management System, ensuring data integrity and compliance with institutional requirements
Assist in the delivery of programs and activities that support student engagement, wellbeing, and success
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to the enhancement of systems, processes and SHEA's student support framework
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Registrar
About you
Qualifications in a relevant discipline
At least 3 years' experience in providing high-quality student support preferably in a higher education environment
In-depth understanding of student needs, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion and sound judgement
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with students and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
Sound problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements to services and processes
Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
High level of attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and data integrity
Ability to work collaboratively with academic and professional staff to support student engagement, success, and a positive student experience
Proficiency in the use of student management systems, and Microsoft Office applications
Commitment to supporting student engagement, retention, and success
