This is a unique, non-traditional academic position within Charles Sturt University, designed specifically for an established professional who wants to transition their real-world frontline and executive leadership into meaningful sector impact. Stepping completely outside the boundaries of conventional academia, this role values your lived operational experience just as much as traditional research. Whether your background is in senior policing, intelligence, security, or regulation, you will serve as a vital, highly credible anchor between the University and the broader public safety sector, translating complex operational realities into high-impact executive learning.
Operating at the intersection of government, law enforcement, and industry, you will lead the development of strategic partnerships and contribute directly to the growth of specialised Charles Sturt University programs. You will facilitate executive-level discussions, mentor the next generation of sector leaders, and collaborate closely with law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies to address contemporary public safety challenges. If you are an influential communicator who is equally comfortable in a government office, a corporate boardroom, or a collaborative university setting, this role offers an unprecedented platform to shape national professional capability and influence the future of your profession.

- You bring senior executive or frontline leadership experience in policing,

- Driven by a desire to influence policy and shape the future of the sector, with a proactive approach to building strategic partnerships and expanding program reach.
- Able to command authority in the boardroom, facilitate executive-level discussions, and seamlessly translate complex operational realities into engaging learning experiences.
- Possesses advanced qualifications or equivalent significant, senior-level industry standing, paired with a passion for mentoring the next generation of leaders
