Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Piping Engineer for our Melbourne CBD Office on a 12 months contract. Reporting to the Lead Piping Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for design, specification and services related to piping systems and piping layout including piping material selection, piping material line classes, standard and specialty piping components, pressure, weight and thermal analysis of piping systems, vibration analysis and piping support systems.
Responsibilities
- Coordination with other engineering disciplines
- Procurement of materials listed in MTOs and the management of vendor data
- Development of workpack scopes and ITPs
- Originating, checking & updating Line Class Specifications
- Management / oversight of pipe stress, modelling, stress checking, general advice and reports as required
Qualifications
- Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 4 years related experience, with average experience ranging from 6-10 years
- Prior experience on offshore Oil & Gas projects which utilize codes relevant to the industry (ASME B31.3) during FEED and EXECUTE project phases is essential
- Prior site construction experience would be highly regarded
- Experience with pipe stress analysis and associated calculations and the use of CAESAR pipe stress analysis as well as the ability to interpret pipe stress report information would be highly regarded
- Experience with welding and other pipe joint methods and managing the technical teams involved would be highly regarded
