Plan, coordinate and report on the delivery of infrastructure and asset programs. Looking for a temporary role as Ranger? Are you passionate about protecting Queensland’s natural areas and skilled in managing infrastructure and assets? Join our team as a OO5 Ranger (Assets), based in Rockhampton. You’ll travel regularly to protected areas and State forests across central Queensland, working in some of the State’s most stunning locations. In this role, you will plan, deliver, and report on infrastructure and asset programs, as well as develop and coordinate the annual maintenance program for ranger bases and management and visitor infrastructure. Depending on the task, you may lead teams, collaborate with others, or work independently. Travel is a key part of the role, often requiring you to work and camp in semi-remote locations. You’ll also support fire management duties, including bushfire suppression,
and assist with other emergency responses. A reasonable level of physical fitness is required. To succeed, you’ll need to be organised, practical, and comfortable working outdoors. A White Card for Construction is essential, and experience in procurement or managing small to medium-scale construction projects is highly desirable. A current, unrestricted manual driver’s licence is mandatory, as you’ll drive government vehicles, including four-wheel drives, as part of your duties. This is a unique prospect to contribute to preserving Queensland’s natural heritage while enjoying a rewarding and challenging career. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you! nrmjobs.com.au/job/20029706
