Port Removals & Storage is a family-run removals and storage company, moving Australians since 1992: our own trucks, our own trained crews, and a container system that keeps every customer's furniture sealed from door to door. Our fleet is growing, our yard is getting busier, and we need the person who owns it.

About the role

You are the reason our trucks roll out loaded and on time every morning. You'll run the yard: staging containers, working the forklift, keeping storage flowing and the whole site organised. When the yard runs well, the entire company runs well, and this role owns that.

What your day looks like

- Morning starts (6:30–7:00am): staging containers and equipment so every truck departs loaded and on time
- Heavy forklift work all day: operating a 12‑tonne forklift, lifting and transferring loaded 20ft shipping containers full of customers' furniture (our containers are transferred sealed, never opened in the yard)
- Loading and unloading support for returning trucks
- Customer storage in and out, recorded properly
- Keeping every truck stocked with its standard kit: blankets, straps, trolleys and gear
- Yard presentation and upkeep: this is your patch. Containers lined up square, gear stored properly, rubbish and strapping cleared, weeds down, signage clean, driveways swept. Customers visit our yard, and it should look like the premium company we are

The hours (this matters)

This is a genuine full‑time role with consistent overtime: most weeks run 45 to 50 hours, paid at proper overtime rates,



and weekend work is a regular part of the roster (our trucks run 7 days, so the yard does too), paid at weekend penalty rates. If you want a big, steady weekly pay packet rather than scraps of casual work, this is that job. Sensible morning starts (6:30–7:00am), and early‑afternoon finishes on standard days.

About you

- Current LF forklift licence (essential)
- Genuine experience on large-capacity forklifts (10 tonne+) and confidence handling loaded shipping containers: this is heavy, exact work, not pallet shuffling
- A smooth, careful operating style: every container you lift is someone's entire home, packed and sealed. Jolts, tilts and hard landings damage what's inside, so we hire operators who lift like it matters
- Reliable at 6:30am, every rostered day including weekends: the whole fleet depends on your start time
- Physically fit and happy working outdoors year round
- Organised by nature and proud of your patch: you like a yard where everything has a place, and it bothers you when it doesn't
- Removals, warehousing, freight or container experience is a bonus, not a requirement: full training provided, including load restraint and heavy vehicle safety inductions
- MR truck licence a bonus (there's a driving pathway here if you want it)
